Travel has the possibility of changing your life in a million different ways. It can make you more aware of different cultures and adopt respect for people that function very differently than you do. Traveling to new places can help you develop a different type of perspective. Travel can teach you how to wake up every morning and ask yourself "What will I do today to make the world a better place for everyone who lives here?"
However, the only way to have these experiences and life changing moments is to pack your (small) bag, book your ticket and get out there. During the planning process of our honey (group) moon so many people have told me how lucky we are to have the chance to take this trip. I've heard people say how much they wish they could travel the world. My favorite part of the conversation is telling them that they can. All you have to do is take the first step: book a ticket to somewhere. Anywhere. It doesn't have to be far away. Sometimes the best adventures can be had close to home. Its the idea of leaving where you are behind, even just for a few days and doing something different. Become an explorer, try a new type of food and have a conversation with someone new. Taking grand adventures involves small steps.
Now if you're one of those people who has a list of excuses, all I can tell you is that excuses are a battle. You have to fight every single one like you would any other challenge. I've had excuses, but in the end I decided that taking adventures made overcoming every excuse worth it.
Ask yourself what you're afraid of. What scares you about traveling-getting lost? Getting lost is when you have the most fun. Running out of money? Travel doesn't have to be glamorous-you don't have to be rich to have adventures. Worried about getting robbed? Don't be an idiot and wander down dark alleys. Remind yourself to be constantly vigilant. You'll be fine.
I hope you face your fears, I hope you go on so many adventures you need a blog to remember every single one.
Happy Travels. #adventureisoutthere
