I really enjoyed reading about Van Gogh's artwork but the museum made me feel sad. This amazing man did some captivating work. However, no one appreciated his talent until he died. And the way he died. He was so close to his brother, Theo, and he too died a few months after Vincent. It was Theo's wife who pushed for Vincent's artwork to be displayed. It's because of her that there's a museum in his honor.

After the museum we went to lunch and enjoyed some delicious Dutch soup. Then we went to the grocery store to buy food to eat at the airport on our way to Berlin. While Miss Delia was checking out, the cashier saw her pull out her credit card and said sternly "No card!" So Miss Delia pulled out her cash and the lady says "No cash!" We were a little confused because we didn't know of any other options. It turns out that the line she's in only accepts Dutch debit card. So she had to cancel her items, go to another lane and try again. All part of the adventure of traveling abroad.
Amsterdam fun facts:
We had a few hours before we had to leave for the airport. We took a rest at the hostel before check out. Then we loaded our backpacks on our backs and set off through Vondelpark one last time.
Our next stop was Berlin. However, this is where we would split from some of our group. Jose and Chris were headed to Prague. Maria was going to meet a friend in Ireland and Adele was going back to England to stay in Bristol. We were sad to see our friends go, but we're excited to hear about their adventures.
The flight to Berlin was uneventful and when we landed we went straight to our hotel. We found Berlin to look much difference than the Germany we experienced a few years ago. It's a big city so we didn't see too many trees and wildlife.
After checking into our hotel, some of us went to find a place to get a drink but it was hard because most places were closed. We ended up taking the U-bahn (subway) a few stops away. However, when we tried to come back it was closed. So we had to walk. It was a little eerie walking around the city and not seeing anyone else. Thankfully, we made it safely back to hotel.
We all slept well in out hotel rooms and were up early to go exploring the next day.
